Deaf Where? develops in response to how people use it, the barriers they encounter and the feedback received from Deaf communities and event organisers. This roadmap shows what has recently been delivered and where the platform is heading. It is not a fixed delivery timetable.
Recently completed
- Simpler event submission: organisers can submit without logging in, with an account created automatically for future editing.
- Event corrections and resubmission: organisers can update the same event when changes are requested rather than starting again.
- Multiple-date events: organisers can enter shared information once and add up to 11 additional dates. Each occurrence becomes a separate linked listing when the series is approved.
- Clearer language and access information: event listings distinguish signed and spoken event languages from additional provision such as interpreters, captions and STTR.
- Improved moderation: submissions can be previewed, returned for specific corrections and reviewed as a complete event series.
- Better organiser guidance: the submission form, Submission Guidelines and Organiser FAQs now explain accounts, editing, images and event series more clearly.
- Newsletter and calendar: visitors can browse events by date and subscribe for event updates.
Current priorities
- Monitor the new submission, correction and event-series workflows and fix any remaining edge cases.
- Improve accessibility through a fuller audit, wider assistive-technology testing and clearer BSL access to important information.
- Improve event discovery, search and filtering as the number of listings grows.
- Develop the newsletter into a useful and sustainable way to highlight upcoming events.
- Continue improving organiser self-service tools while keeping access secure and easy to understand.

- More useful location, date and access filters.
- Improved organiser dashboards and clearer management of existing listings.
- More BSL-first guidance for submitting and managing events.
- Sustainable sponsorship and promotion options that keep standard event listings free.
Longer-term possibilities
- Personalised event alerts based on location, date or access preferences.
- A mobile-app experience if there is a clear community need and a sustainable way to maintain it.
- Closer links with external booking services without making Deaf Where? responsible for ticket sales.
New features will be introduced only when they make Deaf Where? more useful, simple, accessible and sustainable.
