The Royal Hospital Chelsea is home to the world-famous Chelsea Pensioners. The Hospital itself is one of the UK’s most important historic buildings, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Sir John Soane.
On this British Sign Language guided tour, Edward Richards will highlight the Royal Hospital’s history, from its founding by King Charles II in the 1600s to the damage it sustained during Second World War air raids. He will also examine what daily life is like for a Chelsea Pensioner and how this stunning site has been used and adapted over the centuries.
