Join former and current members of the UCL Deafness, Cognition and Language Research Centre (DCAL) community for a special day celebrating 20 years of research, collaboration and impact.
The morning programme will look back at DCAL’s history, with memories from people who helped establish the centre and talks from former staff about their research, careers and the impact DCAL has had on their work. There will also be short videos, presentations and poster talks.
At lunchtime, enjoy lunch, explore the posters, take part in activities and meet other people from the DCAL community. In the afternoon, current DCAL researchers will share their work, followed by a panel discussion about the future of deaf research with questions from the audience. The day will end with a drinks reception.
Registration opens at 9.30am. The main programme runs from 10am to 5pm. Tickets cost £10, or £15 for a Pay It Forward ticket that includes a £5 contribution to support the event. Both options include lunch, tea, coffee, snacks and the drinks reception.
The main programme will have BSL/English interpreters, tactile/Deafblind interpreters and live captions. Guide dogs are welcome. Please share any access requirements when booking.
