As the climate crisis accelerates, musicians, activists and industry leaders are increasingly harnessing the power of music to bring people together to share stories of nature, to raise awareness of the climate crisis and to catalyse collective action.From grassroots movements to major festivals, live music is engaging new audiences with the climate breakdown.
Chaired by science communicator Zion Lights, the panel will bring climate justice activists Dominique Palmer and Tori Tsui together with music producer Werkha and music industry leaders to explore the power of live music to mobilise audiences, build communities and drive climate action.
Dominique Palmer is a climate justice activist, speaker, storyteller, writer, and advocate of slow fashion based in the U.K. Amongst many other things, she is a coordinator for Climate Live, global youth-led concerts harnessing the power of music to engage, educate and empower.
Tori Tsui is a climate justice campaigner and author. She is a Senior Advisor for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty and Climate Justice Lead for Brian Eno’s Earth Percent.
DJ Werkha aka Tom Leah isA Manchester-based producer and multi-instrumentalist artist. He has recently created Saturama, a live audio-visual experience aimed at reconnecting to our rainforests in the UK, with the vision of building a sustainable future in an age of disconnect.
