Organiser FAQs

This page explains how to submit, edit and manage events on Deaf Where?. If you are submitting an event for the first time, you do not need to create an account or log in before starting.

Do I need an account to submit an event?

No. You can submit a new event without logging in. Complete the form using your own email address, or the organiserโ€™s details if you have their permission.

Why has an account been created for me?

When you submit an event for the first time, Deaf Where? automatically creates an organiser account linked to the email address you entered. You do not need to create this account separately.

Your account lets you edit and manage your submitted events. It also allows you to make changes if Deaf Where? returns an event to you for revision.

How do I set or reset my password?

Visit the password reset page and enter the same email address you used when submitting your event. You will receive an email with instructions for setting a password. If it does not arrive, check your junk or spam folder.

Which email address should I use?

Some organisations prefer everyone to use one shared email address for event submissions, while others prefer each team member to use their own address.

Please check with your team before submitting an event so that you use the correct email address for your organisation. The organiser account and event will be connected to the address entered on the form.

Why does the editing area say WordPress?

Deaf Where? uses WordPress to manage events, so seeing the WordPress name or dashboard after logging in is normal. Your access is restricted to the events connected to your own account. You cannot access the private administration of the wider website.

How do I edit a published event?

Log in using the account connected to the email address used for the submission. Open your event, make the necessary changes and save it. You do not need to submit the entire event again.

What happens if my event needs changes before it is published?

Deaf Where? may return the event to you for revision. You will receive an email with a link to the event. Log in, make the requested changes and resubmit it for review.

What image should I upload?

Upload a clear, good-quality promotional image or event poster. It must be at least 1000 pixels on its longest side and 600 pixels on its shortest side. Larger images are recommended.

Make sure important text remains readable when the image is displayed at a smaller size. You will also be asked to provide an image description explaining its important visual content.

Can I replace an image after selecting it?

Yes. Use the remove option beside the selected image, then choose the correct file.

Why was my image rejected?

Check that the image meets the minimum dimensions shown above and uses one of the file types accepted by the form. If a valid image is still rejected, please contact Deaf Where? and include a short description or screenshot of the error. Do not repeatedly redesign your poster unless the error message says that the image itself is the problem.

Can Deaf Where? submit or edit an event for me?

Deaf Where? is a self-service platform, so events should normally be submitted and updated using the website. If a technical problem prevents you from completing the form, contact Deaf Where? and include the event name, the image you attempted to upload and a description or screenshot of the error.

Can I get support by video call?

Deaf Where? is run voluntarily alongside full-time employment, so I cannot provide support by video call. Please use the contact page and include as much detail as possible so I can help you by email.
