Led by Deaf artist and lecturer Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq, this tour offers a visually rich journey through highlights of the National Gallery’s collection of Spanish Baroque painting. The talk will take place in Room 19 of the Gallery.
Discover masterpieces by Velázquez, Ribera, and Murillo, artists whose work shaped the visual culture of Spain during this period. As contemporaries of Francisco de Zurbarán, they provide a compelling counterpoint to Zurbarán’s luminous and contemplative style. This tour offers the perfect introduction before delving deeper into Zurbarán’s world.
Visitors are invited to make the most of our ‘Pay What You Wish’ scheme, with entry to Zurbarán available from just £1 after the tour.
This session will be led by a Deaf lecturer in British Sign Language with interpretation in spoken English.
