BSL Tour | We Others

Created by The Photographers' Gallery

An informal tour of the exhibition We Others: Donna Gottschalk and Hélène Giannecchini

Working at a time when queer relationships were still criminalised in the United States, Donna Gottschalk created tender, defiant images that centre care, solidarity and everyday life. We Others is an intimate exhibition introducing her chosen family — friends, lovers and fellow activists — photographed within lesbian, trans and gay communities in 1960s and 70s New York.

Led by historian John Wilson, the tour will explore key works in the exhibition, including domestic scenes, portraits and moments of collective resistance, as well as the dialogue between Gottschalk’s photographs and texts by writer Hélène Giannecchini.

We kindly ask that you do not block book for this tour. Anyone part of a group should book individually.
