Join Isabel and Sana from our Visitor Experience and Engagement Team for a practical workshop exploring the role of bread in building and maintaining communities.
We’ll start with some historical context on bread and breadmaking, followed by a guided meditation on bread and a story about bread in South Asian culture. You’re wellcome to join the conversation and share your own thoughts and experiences.
You’ll then have a chance to make sculptures from bread dough, drawing on the themes discussed. We’ll have images and recipes from our historical collections on display to inspire you – and you can take your sculptures home at the end of the workshop.
All materials will be provided. Please note that this workshop is not suitable for anyone with a gluten or nut allergy.
This is a relaxed event, so you’re free to move around. There will be a Chill-Out Room with low lighting and comfortable seating.
