Join Deaf Rave for an incredible all-ages day of accessible performances, workshops, activities, music, socialising and discovery, that brings together Deaf and Hard of Hearing teens, children, families and their friends.

One BIG DEAF DAY where Deaf and HoH humans are the majority, not the minority.

Come and be a part of it!

The day includes:

  • Appearances from Deaf Chef, Sam Egerton-Kemp; Deaf rap artist MC Geezer; ParaCheer athlete Sophie Byers; breakdancer Roshan; ‘Deaf Diva’ Geeraii; Australian children’s sign language entertainer Auslan With David; and many more
  • Sign Song sessions with @SignWithHope, Jino, and Sign Music
  • Get taster DJ-ing and VJ-ing lessons from DJ Chinaman, aka Troi Lee MBE; DJ Jeffo; VJ Outlaw and crew
  • Try out tech-enabled vests that allow you to WEAR and FEEL music in the Woojer Zone
  • Interact with snakes, chameleons, owls and spiders in the Petting Zoo
  • Learn circus skills from mime artist Deaf Mimo and the Deaf Juggler
  • Join a drumming circle led by Miriam Dubois
  • Beat the high scores in our Pop-up Arcade: a gamer’s paradise
  • Enjoy bubble shows, bouncy castles, face painting, hair braiding, a glitter station, arts & crafts, and toddler soft play
  • Chat to exhibitors about new resources and services for the Deaf and HoH community of all ages
  • Chill out in the Sensory Room: a relaxing chill-out zone for neurodiverse guests and anyone who needs a breather

Rich Mix Access:

  • Step-free access via a ramp at the main entrance on Bethnal Green Road
  • Lifts provide access to all gallery, performance, and cinema spaces
  • Accessible toilets are located on the Ground, 1st, 2nd (next to Screen 2), and 4th floors
  • Our Box Office, Stage, and Studio spaces are equipped with hearing loops. Most hearing aids can connect by switching to the ‘T’ position
  • Infrared hearing systems are available in The Studio and in cinema screens. Headsets can be provided on request. This system can also provide auto-description for some films – please ask at the Box Office for details.
  • A portable FM radio system with neck loops and headsets can be provided on request
  • We accept CEA cards, which allow disabled guests to bring a carer free of charge.

There are four accessible toilets in venue with RADAR locks:

  • on the ground floor near reception / The Stage / Streetside
  • on the first floor by the Cinema Bar and near the Gallery / Cinema
  • outside Screen 2 (2nd floor in the cinema)
  • on the fourth floor near The Studio and The Mix space
